CHILDREN have been making mythical masks as part of a project to encourage them to keep reading during the holidays.

The session at Shipley Library was one of many being held across the district.

Team leader for Shipley, Bingley and Baildon libraries Patrick Hill said: "All of the libraries, including Shipley, are running events through the holidays as part of the Summer reading Challenge, which this year has a Mythical Maze theme.

"It went down brilliantly."

Shipley Library, in Well Croft, will host a Mythical Maze event tomorrow at 2pm. Call (01274) 437150 to book.

A teddy bear's picnic will be held this Friday from 11am until 1pm. Families can turn up on the day with their teddies and picnic to enjoy stories, songs and playtime.
