PEOPLE across the district are being asked about their eating and health habits as part of a major campaign to tackle obesity.
The survey will focus on pregnant women, under 16s and over 60s, and the results could help shape health policy across Europe.
Last month it was revealed that Bradford had been chosen as the only UK city to take part in "We Love Eating" - a year long project to encourage healthy lifestyles. It will be launched across Europe in September, but before then the groups behind it are hoping to collect lifestyle information about 600 Bradfordians to determine what needs to be focused on.
Locally the European Commission project is being run by Born in Bradford, and Shipley-based healthy living charity HALE.
Questions asked in the survey include how much water people drink, what their exercise habits are and how much fruit and veg they eat.
Everyone who takes part in the survey will receive a voucher for a free swim at any pool run by Bradford Council, and be entered into a prize draw for £100.
Once the project is complete, findings from each European city will be used to develop Europe-wide healthy living policies.
Frances Holling, of HALE, said the results would be anonymous, and so the group was hoping people would be as honest as possible about their habits. She added: "Different issues will arise in different countries, we need people to participate at this level so we know what issues to target. It might be that we find out people don't realise the benefits of drinking water or don't know how much they should be drinking."
Invited to take part are pregnant women or new mums, parents of children under 10, young people aged 10-16 and adults over 60.
Goals of the project include getting more families to shop for food and prepare meals together, and eating a more balanced diet.
Other cities involved are Granollers in Spain, Poznan in Poland, Roncq in France, Banska Bysrica in Slovakia, Culj-Napoca in Romania and Deventer in the Netherlands.
