FORMER pupils from a Bingley school stepped back to the 1990s with a fundraising reunion following an online campaign.

More than 180 former students of Beckfoot School, Wagon Lane, Bingley, were reunited for one night only, 20 years on from the completion of their GCSEs.

The group rolled back the years at The Octagon, Bradford Road, Sandbeds, Keighley on Saturday night after a Facebook page was created by Steve Morgan and Simon Pearson.

The event also featured a DJ playing songs from 1994, the year the group completed their GCSEs. The event was also open to students who attended the school between 1992 and 1996.

It raised more than £200 for the Manorlands hospice in Oxenhope.

Amy Vanheste, a former pupil who attended the party, said: "It was absolutely fantastic. There was a good mixture of men and women who went.

"It was great to see people that I'd lost touch with. Everyone was really mingling. There was a lot of people there that I had not seen since school.

"Twenty years seemed a good point for everyone to meet up.

"Within a week of the Facebook page going up, 100 people had joined the group. It spread like wildfire.

"It was definitely a one-off at the moment but in another ten years time we might do it again."
