SIZZLING spices and temperatures mingled in Bradford's City Park as the World Curry Festival continued to attract crowds throughout the weekend.

When the curries got too hot to handle there was always iced lattes and strawberry samosas to cool things down again as the sun shone on the popular three-day event.

Chapatti classes, a jenga-style chapatti challenge, cookery school and master classes in the big marquee were just some of what was on the menu for visitors who thronged to the heart of Bradford to zest up their weekend, eat good food and come away with inspiring recipes and the know-how to do it at home.

Among master chefs making an appearance on Saturday was one fromTexas sharing her shrimp in butter sauce recipe - former TV presenter Christa Ackroyd was also there.

And the mirror pool was a hot-spot with families making the most of the summer, sitting to relax and chat while letting the children have a splash and paddle.

Bringing a new flavour to the event and running alongside the curry festival was Poetry In The City, a new partnership between Ilkley Literature Festival and the World Curry Festival, with performances from the likes of Joolz Denby and Roger McGough in City Hall's banqueting suite.
