BRADFORD Council has given the go ahead for the conversion of a fire-damaged house in Heaton, despite a complaint that the planning application for repairs is "illegible."
Jeff Redmile was granted planning permission to re-build 36 Quarry Street, which was left severely damaged by a fire early last year, and turn the building into three one bedroom flats.
Despite calls for something to be done about the house, which was derelict for some time before the fire, there were still objections to the plan, including over the extra parking three flats would require. Referring to the hand written planning application, one objector said: "The writing on the application is illegible."
In response a planning officer said: "The design statement is clearly legible." He went on to say: "The remainder of the restoration works are considered to be sympathetic and acceptable."
