Women of Bradford took to the city centre yesterday for a vigil to show solidarity with the schoolgirls abducted in Nigeria.

Bradford Women for Peace and Bradford District Women’s Forum joined together for the event, to help keep attention focused on the plight of the hundreds of schoolgirls taken on April 15.

They took to the streets wearing red and brandishing banners in support of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign which has gained momentum internationally.

Liz Firth, who is involved with both organisations said: “Our hearts go out to the missing girls, their families and friends and to the Nigerian community living here.”
