Award is a memorial to Emma

An award has been set up to honour an adult and young person who have made a difference to other people’s lives.

Named after the late Emma Woodhouse, the memorial award has been created as a lasting legacy to the 28-year-old who died last August.

Emma, whose father Mark works at Holme Church in Holme Wood, Bradford, and whose brother, Adam, is a senior youth worker with The Edge, a young people’s project on the estate, had been troubled with ill health since she was involved in an ice skating accident when she was 16.

Despite being confined to a wheelchair and being partially sighted, Emma never let her disabilities get in her way.

She was particularly proud of her brother and his work with young people, according to her best friend Michaela Gautier.

The family will select a young person and a nominee over 18 who have made a positive difference in their lives and the award will be presented at the church’s fun day on July 5.
