A 30-strong mob of teenagers laid siege to the home of a town councillor, pelting it with eggs and stones.

Police raced to Cliffe Avenue, Baildon, to disperse the group when Ian Lyons rang for help on Tuesday.

Mr Lyons (left), 34, said yesterday: “I was at home doing some work when I heard something whack against the front window at about 7.20pm. I got up and looked out and was shocked to see a huge crowd of teenagers, mostly aged about 13 and 14. There was at least 20 outside my house with another ten lurking on banking towards Sandals Park.”

After the initial attack, the mob returned later to carry out a second. A Police spokesman confirmed the incident was being investigated. In a separate matter, Nathan Rhodes, 20, of Kingsley Crescent, Baildon, and Stefan Rhodes, 18, also of Kingsley Crescent, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with assaulting Mr Lyons outside his home on Sunday, April 20.

They have been bailed to appear before Bradford and Keighley magistrates.
