Tonight successful artist Darren Baker returns to Bradford College School of Art to say thank you to fashion and clothing design students who devised an outfit for his dog.

After graduating with a degree in Art & Design in 1998, Darren set up his first studio in Saltaire with a grant from the Prince’s Trust.

The birth of his daughter Lily inspired him and his wife Abigail to write a children’s book, illustrated by Darren, based on the adventures of their pug, Albert.

Fashion and clothing students at the college designed an outfit for Albert to wear at the London launch of the book, Albert the Handydog. The book and the original artwork are being sold in aid of the trust.

Former TV presenter Christa Ackroyd who, like Darren, is an Honorary Fellow of Bradford College, will open the event.

Darren’s original artwork and books will be displayed in the Drawing Studio, Lister Building, Carlton Street, Bradford, from 7pm until 9pm and Darren will present prizes to the winning design students.
