The latest major annual event to support a Silsden teenager who broke his neck playing rugby will take place this month.

The third tag rugby event for Nathan Cubitt will be staged at Keighley Rugby Union Club, in Utley, on Sunday, May 25, starting at 10am.

Nathan was badly hurt in an accident while playing for his under-17s team in November 2011, when he was 16.

This left him paralysed from the armpits down, though he has some movement in his arms and wrists.

Proceeds from the event will be split equally between funding Nathan’s ongoing care costs and the Matt Hampson Foundation, which supports people who suffer serious injury playing sport.

The charge for entering a team of ten is £40. Single entry to the event is £5. People wanting to enter a side for Try Tag Rugby must have three women in their team. Contact nathantagrugby@ gmail.com or events manager Mark Dunstan on 07595 337159 for details.
