Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Bradford governor calls public meeting over school Bradford governor calls public meeting over school

One of the school governors sacked by Bradford Council plans to meet with parents in response to a damning Ofsted report that led to the Council removing him and his fellow governors.

Yesterday an Ofsted report into governance at Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise College was made public for the first time.

The school’s governors were replaced with an Interim Executive Board early last month after Government inspectors raised concerns about how the school was being run.

The move led to claims that the school was part of an “Islamic takeover” plot, similar to ones allegedly taking place in Birmingham, although these claims have been dismissed by governors and council leaders as exaggerations. Coun Faisal Khan, an Independent councillor in Bradford Moor, is one of the ousted governors, and has planned a meeting for Sunday to discuss the situation with parents and residents of Bradford Moor.

The report was released to several people in Bradford Council and the school two weeks ago, but only made public yesterday. In it inspector Katrina Gueli says: “This inspection has raised serious concerns about the governance of the college.
