This isn't me being party political, this is the reality of the situation regardless of who ends up steering the ship after the next election. I have suggested a means of dealing with this reality, whats yours? Do we really want to see vast chunks of the population being thrust further and further into desperation when the number of taxpayers to pay for everything reduces? In the end, if all the jobs are automated, there would be nobody with any money to buy the goods and services and the system would correct itself. However before that happened there would be enormous social upheaval with the rich expecting the government of the day to keep order. That might prove difficult because the rich, as always, would not be paying their taxes, so the Government would be deeply in debt and running a stringent austerity programme. So no jobs, no benefits and no military to shoot the workers and keep order. This is where the Tory politics of greed, inequality and unfairness gets you. The means of production should be taken from the rich and given to the workers." Your name Your email Reason Please note we will not accept reports with HTML tags or URLs in them.
