Further Tour de France-related roadworks will take place in Otley this month.
A highways team will carry out the resurfacing of Cross Green, Boroughgate and Market Place – the roads flow run into each other and form one stretch of the race's route through town – from Monday, May 12 to Friday, May 16. The Leeds City Council crew will use an easily applied ‘micro asphalt’ treatment.
And in a further bid to minimise disruption the work will take place in the evenings, between 7pm and 11.30pm. Councillor Colin Campbell (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) said: “I hope it can be carried out with the minimum of disturbance both to motorists and residents. I have asked that they liaise with the markets to ensure there are no problems.”
