Bradford Council’s former strategic director of children’s services has been nominated for an award.
Kath Tunstall, who retired from her post at the Council last month, is in the running for a Sue Ryder Yorkshire Women of Achievement Award 2014.
The awards take place on Friday, May 9, at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. Mrs Tunstall started her career in Leeds in 1976 as a social worker. She came to Bradford in 2002 as Head of Service for Children and Young People and became Director of Social Services in 2005 and then Strategic Director of Children’s Services in 2007.
During her time in Bradford, Mrs Tunstall led on a range of challenging issues and projects, including an ambitious project to build five new children’s homes in the district.
