A 28-year-old man who fractured a man’s eye socket during a brawl will be sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on May 7.
Luke Thompson, 28, of Elm Grove, Keighley, was originally charged with causing Anthony Stewart grievous bodily harm with intent, but his plea of guilty to the less serious offence of inflicting grievous bodily harm was accepted by the prosecution yesterday.
Sohail Khan, barrister for the Crown, said that punches were exchanged by both men in the fight, on July 24 last year.
“There is two-way traffic as far as dealing of the blows is concerned,” Mr Khan said.
The court was told that Thompson had a previous conviction for assault and he was imprisoned for four years for robbery in 2010.
His barrister, Kate Bisset, said he was in work and he and his partner were expecting their first child.
Judge David Hatton QC adjourned the case for the preparation of a report from the probation service.
