A popular local destination for film-makers has hosted the team in charge of a major new production set during the First World War. The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (K&WVR) provided a backdrop for the filming of Testament of Youth, a feature-length production based on the iconic memoir written by Vera Brittain. The feature is being made by Heyday Films and BBC Films. Crews spent three days filming at Keighley Station last week. Roger France, railway filming liaison officer for the K&WVR, said the shoot had been a big operation, with about 200 extras present on one day. The film will portray the story of Vera, an intelligent and open-minded young woman who volunteers as a nurse and sets off for France during the First World War.
