Councillors are set to grant permission – again – to turn a former printing warehouse in Shipley into more than 100 homes and offices.

An application to renew planning permission for a site off Dock Lane will be heard by Bradford Council’s regulatory and appeals committee next Thursday.

Permission was originally granted in September 2009 but is about to lapse.

When they meet next week, councillors are expected to refer the matter to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government before they can recommend it for approval.

The application – by Adore Lexicon – is to demolish the former Lexicon warehouse in Bankside and replace it with a multi-million pound riverside development.

It will include 114 flats, a third of which will be affordable homes, with offices, car parks and public gardens.

The scheme must also pay for improvement to parks and play areas in the local area, towards educational facilities at local primary and secondary schools, and for two new bus shelters on Leeds Road, under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act.

If planning permission is granted, it will be in place for another five years.
