Bosses at an award-winning company have proved they are diamond geezers.

Fenetic Wellbeing – which sells mobility and healthcare products – took part in the Manorlands Diamond Geezer challenge, in which entrants are given £60 and asked to increase it by as much as possible.

And the Ingrow firm’s efforts raised £550 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Fenetic Wellbeing was launched by long-time friends Tom Appelbee and Graeme Firth after they were made redundant from the healthcare company they worked for.

Their enterprise has gone from strength to strength, and last year took top honours at the inaugural Keighley Business Awards.

Manorlands-based Sue Ryder fundraiser, Andrew Wood, said: “They entered the Diamond Geezer competition last September. With their expertise in the mobility sector, the pair have bought bargain priced second-hand riser recliners on internet auction sites, repaired them and sold them, with proceeds going to the hospice.”

Margaret Patel, from the Manorlands occupational therapy team, received the cheque and thanked everyone at Fenetic Wellbeing for their support.

She said she was impressed with the firm’s range of mobility products and hoped the company could become a supplier to the hospice.

And Fenetic Wellbeing is looking at continuing its support of Manorlands by entering the Mascot Gold Cup at Wetherby on April 13.
