Police were today continuing to investigate reports of a serious assault on a woman in a block of flats.
Emergency services were called to social housing block Gerard House, in Fairhaven Green, Thorpe Edge, Bradford, at around 7pm last night.
Neighbours said there were four ambulances and two police cars at the scene.
Neighbour Nigel Lambert said paramedics treated the woman at the scene for around two hours before she was put in an ambulance.
He said: “The woman is in a very, very bad way.”
A police spokesman said the woman was being treated in hospital and a man had been detained in connection with the assault.
He said the man had not yet been arrested as he too was being treated for injuries.
