A neighbourhood policing team is keen to hear more inspiring stories about the work of a PCSO who has become a “household name” for his unusual crime-fighting escapades in part of Bradford.
PCSO Mohammed Farooqi shot to prominence in the Great Horton area after firstly commandeering a utility van to chase a suspect and secondly leaping from a bus to detain a man.
In a message on its website, the Great Horton and Little Horton NPT said: “PCSO Farooqi has recently become a household name in the Great Horton area after featuring in several high octane crime fighting escapades. “Farooqi is now seen amongst some of the Great Horton community as somewhat of a pin-up action figure, a 21st century Robert Peel if you would.”
