A 33-year-old mum-of-two who stabbed her then partner during a violent street confrontation has been released from custody.

Tammie Gallagher was remanded in custody last September after allegedly stabbing Thomas Firth for a second time, but a Bradford Crown Court judge heard yesterday that the prosecution had decided not to pursue that later charge.

Gallagher, of Robin Street, Little Horton, Bradford, was, however, sentenced over an incident in March last year when she armed herself with a knife and used it to stab Mr Firth in the chest.

Gallagher, who had a previous conviction for wounding in 2002, told officers she had stabbed Mr Firth but had only intended to scare him.

Judge Neil Davey QC said he had taken into account the fact that Gallagher had been in custody since last September in deciding to impose an intensive community order which includes 12 months’ supervision, a 50-day activity requirement and a six-month alcohol treatment requirement.

Gallagher had pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful wounding.
