Keighley councillors will look at how they can work with police to improve community safety in the town.

Keighley Area Committee will hear on Thursday about impending changes to the way that neighbourhood policing is organised across the district.

The current 12 neighbourhood policing teams will be reorganised into six, one for each constituency – including Keighley and Ilkley – and one for Bradford city centre.

Police chiefs say they will maintain local officers in each community, and will not reduce frontline police officers.

There will be a Safer Neighbourhoods “support hub” to oversee issues like anti-social behaviour, Neighbourhood Watch, crime reduction, licensing and hate crime.
