A raffle organised by the Year 11 form group at Benton Park School in Rawdon raised £206 for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer charity.
Eve Corry, a community fundraiser for Candlelighters, visited the school to accept the cheque and told student teacher Kate Brook and the girls that their money would be able to provide some entertainment for children awaiting treatment.
Liz Mowe, head of teaching and learning maths, helped with fundraising and had the original idea of a Valentine’s chocolate and sweet hamper raffle.
The fundraisers were very grateful to receive the hamper which was donated by Tod's Treats, of Oxford Street, Guiseley.
