A number of hard-to-let maisonettes have been demolished in Bolton Woods to make way for a proposed affordable housing redevelopment scheme.
The six outdated properties were pulled down with the intention of using the area for a mixed tenure scheme of family-sized houses.
Incommunities has confirmed it is planning to submit a bid to the Homes and Communities Agency’s 2015-18 Affordable Homes programme.
Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe (Windhill & Wrose) is pleased to see the development moving forward.
She said: “The old flats were of poor quality and residents had a tough time living there.
“I’m pleased that Incommunities are now getting on with their plans to build much-needed family houses.”
