Bolton Woods demolition makes way for family housing scheme

First published in News

A number of hard-to-let maisonettes have been demolished in Bolton Woods to make way for a proposed affordable housing redevelopment scheme.

The six outdated properties were pulled down with the intention of using the area for a mixed tenure scheme of family-sized houses.

Incommunities has confirmed it is planning to submit a bid to the Homes and Communities Agency’s 2015-18 Affordable Homes programme.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe (Windhill & Wrose) is pleased to see the development moving forward.

She said: “The old flats were of poor quality and residents had a tough time living there.

“I’m pleased that Incommunities are now getting on with their plans to build much-needed family houses.”

affordable housing, i am not to sure what it stands for, we have affordable housing several doors away, they don't look after the new houses, but can afford to run new cars, if they can afford new cars surly they can afford a to buy a house.

The housing itself is not the problem.......it is just the quality of the people in the area, who cause trouble, and make problems for those who would like to rent those maisonettes.
