Police are appealing for anyone who saw a violent, unprovoked attack on a man outside a supermarket to get in touch.

The attack, which happened before Christmas, has only recently been reported to police.

At about 2pm on Friday, December 20, the 44-year-old victim was punched to the floor and then kicked outside the Morrisons supermarket in Keighley.

The suspect, who is white and believed to be in his 50s, then walked off towards the town centre.

The attack left the victim with facial injuries including a broken jaw and a wound near his eye which required stitches.

Detective Inspector Neil Benstead, of Bradford District CID, said: “I would like to ask anyone who was in the area at that time whether they witnessed this incident, or if they remember seeing a man of stocky build, about 5ft 7ins tall, with short hair."

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
