Volunteers young and old have cleaned up their streets.

The Yorkshire branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission organised a street-cleaning drive across the BD3 postcode area of Bradford. Volunteers aged four to 65 braved the cold last Saturday to sweep up litter and dirt and make their neighbourhood a smarter place.

They were joined by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Joanne Dodds and her consort, her husband Robert Dodds. Coun Dodds planted a tree in the Mission’s grounds in Napier Street, Bradford, to mark the occasion.

The street-cleaning drive is one of a number of community improvement events being organised by the faith group, alongside the group Proud Of BD3 and Bradford Council, thorughout February and March.
