Two men remained in custody last night after being held on suspicion of murdering Bradford businessman Sajid Saddique.
The Bradford men, aged 48 and 52, were arrested in the city yesterday morning and questioned throughout the day.
They were held within days of West Yorkshire Police mounting a murder inquiry after uncovering new information about the disappearance of married father-of-three Mr Saddique.
The car dealer, who was then aged 32, vanished on the morning of Valentine’s Day 2007 after meeting a business associate at the Asda car park in Manor Road, Shipley.
His gold Volkswagen Bora car was found later that day by his family, parked and secure in the Asda car park.
On Monday, Mr Saddique’s wife, Asma Razaq, joined the investigating officer, Detective Inspector Steve Snow, in making a further public appeal.
Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
A 45-year-old Halifax man arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been released on bail.
A 62-year-old Bradford man, also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, was released without charge.
