The Good Food Advice Stall in the Oastler Shopping Centre, Bradford, will be holding events to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.

On Saturday, March 1, people will be able to use pedal power to make their own drinks using Fairtrade ingredients on a smoothie bike, there will be cookery demonstrations from Jamie’s Ministry of Food Bradford using Fairtrade ingredients, and Aimeth Angulo, a Fairtrade banana producer from Columbia, will be at the stall from 11am to 3pm to talk about life for banana farmers and how Fairtrade can make a difference.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, Bradford Council’s executive member for employment, skills and culture, said: “A total of 4.5 million people visited our city centre markets last year so it’s a real opportunity for the Fairtrade group to highlight what a difference it makes buying fairly traded goods.”

Fairtrade Fortnight starts on Monday, February 24.
