The hunt is on to find eight fun-loving faces who capture the magic of this year’s Bingley Music Live festival.

Bingley Music Live organisers, backed by Bradford Council, are running an online competition for entrants to send in snaps which could lead to them starring on promotional posters and websites.

“The competition is open to anyone aged one to 121 – and to all faces whether they’re grumpy, grinning, gurning or gorgeous,” a spokesman said.

“This is not a beauty contest. It is a search for faces that sum up the spirit of the festival – a fun late summer weekend for all ages.”

The event, now in its eighth year, attracts thousands of people of all ages, backgrounds and musical tastes and is the last Yorkshire festival of the summer.

Fame beckons for the eight winning folk, who will feature on bill boards, posters and social media promoting the festival all over the district.

Anyone wanting to submit their faces can do so in one of three ways:

* E-mail photos to faceofBML@ bingleymusiclive.com

* Upload photos on the Bingley Music Live Facebook pages – https://www.facebook.com/ bingleymusiclive

* Tweet photos to @BingleyFestival with the hashtag #FaceofBML The Bingley Music Live team will post a winners’ shortlist on Monday, February 24, on the festival website.

Friends, families and festival-goers will be invited to help choose the winning eight by voting on Twitter and Facebook. The lucky winners will then have portraits taken by Bingley Music Live’s official photographer which will then be made into posters.

Councillor Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council’s executive member responsible for leisure, said: “This is a fun way to get people involved in the run-up to Bingley Music Live and captures the spirit of an event that appeals to people of all ages and musical tastes.”

Bingley Music Live 2013 was attended by 15,000 people. CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers, The Human League and Primal Scream were the headline acts.

Businesses in the area also benefited, with some reporting an increase in trade by up to 200 per cent over the festival weekend.

* This year’s event will be on August 29, 30 and 31 with the first few acts due to be announced later this month. For the latest news on the event visit bingleymusiclive.com or follow them on Twitter @BingleyFestival.
