People organising events to celebrate the arrival in the district this summer of the Tour de France are being urged to register their plans with Bradford Council.

Groups and businesses are preparing to mark the Sunday, July 6, staging of the Grand Depart with a range of activities.

The Council is collating details of events and offering help and advice.

It has set up a website – bradford.gov.uk/tourde france – with information for anyone considering running temporary campsites or car parks, having mobile or temporary catering facilities or renting out their home as a temporary bed and breakfast.

An interactive map is being regularly updated with details of events and facilities.

Coun Andrew Thornton, the Council’s executive member for environment and sport, said: “Our officers will be able to offer advice to help plan and run these events and facilities safely.”
