Groups in Bingley celebrate Skipton Building Society 'Big 160' success

Bingley-based groups The Friends of Prince of Wales Park and Bingley Allotment Association are celebrating after being chosen as winners of Skipton Building Society’s “Big 160”.

They have triumphed in its Grassroots Giving initiative after winning public votes and beating 1,000 contenders nationwide.

They will each receive £500.

David Cutter, Skipton’s group chief executive said: “Skipton’s Grassroots Giving programme was set up to support groups who show commitment to their community, who could illustrate how they plan to evolve in the future and how the funding would be used to help secure the longevity of their great work.”
