A woman was taken to hospital after a rush-hour crash in Bradford.

She was a front-seat passenger in a Citroen Picasso which collided with a Smart car on Keighley Road, at its junction with Emm Lane, at 4.45pm yesterday.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, is said to have suffered a chest injury. She was also in shock, said a fire service spokesman, who said she was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.

A man and three children who were also in the car were not injured.

The male driver of the Smart car was also unharmed.

The junction of Keighley Road and Emm Lane was closed.

Firefighters from Shipley fire station helped get the woman out of the car.
