People across Bradford are being urged to hold Tour de France themed events to raise Marie Curie Cancer Care funds.

The charity has a fundraising pack (left) full of ideas to inspire people, with suggestions including a Tour party, a cycling tour of their town, wearing yellow or hosting a French-themed dinner party.

Jane Collins, chief executive of Marie Curie, said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of history and get involved in an event that people will always remember. We want as many people as possible to do something extraordinary to raise money for Marie Curie.

“Even if you’re not a cyclist, there are so many ways for you to get involved. All the money raised from the ‘Grand Départy’ will enable us to offer free care for more people with terminal illnesses and their families.”
