Delays in Bradford will be worth it, says councillor

Bradford Council has announced that pedestrian safety is to be improved at the junction of Hamme Strasse and Valley Road.
Work to replace worn-out signal equipment and introduce more button controls at the pedestrian crossings is due to start on October 14.
The £70,000 project is expected to take around five weeks and may lead to some minor traffic disruption during off-peak periods. Councillor Val Slater, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Planning, Transportation and Highways, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any delays to traffic, but I am sure these will be a very small price to pay for a major improvement in road safety at the junction.”
