Rail disruption in Bradford district after train hits sheep
Several sheep have been hit by a train near Silsden - causing services to and from Bradford to be cancelled.
A spokesman for Northern Rail said the train was damaged in the crash and has had to be taken out of service at Skipton.
The services cancelled are the 4.44pm from Bradford Forster Square to Ilkley, the 5.10pm from Leeds to Forster Square, the 5.21pm from Ilkley to Forster Square, and the 6.01pm from Forster Square to Leeds.
The spokesman added: “The line is open, but because we have taken a train out of action some services have had to be cancelled.
“A couple of sheep are still in the vicinity so services have been warned to be careful.”
Other services may be delayed because trains are running at reduced speed near the scene of the incident.
