Have say on cash to revitalise Keighley valley area
6:10am Friday 4th October 2013 in News
An information event is being held next week to get further public input into Keighley’s Big Local regeneration initiative.
The £1 million lottery fund aims to revitalise the Keighley Valley corridor, stretching from Stockbridge through Thwaites, Parkwood and Woodhouse towards Ingrow.
Residents and businesses from the area are being urged to attend Wednesday’s event. It takes place at Leeds City College Keighley Campus, from 6.30pm to 8pm.
“This is a 10-year programme and we want people from the area to decide how and when the money is spent,” said a spokesman for the initiative.
An application to the Big Local lottery fund has just been made for £20,000, part of which would be given in small grants for community events to get more residents involved.
Call (01535) 607775 and quote “Big Local” to confirm attendance at Wednesday’s event.
