North Yorkshire Assistant Chief Constable Sue Cross and self-proclaimed “Bradford Lass” has come to the end of her 30-year police career spanning West Yorkshire, Cleveland and North Yorkshire Police.
She said: “My time in West Yorkshire Police saw me policing in many different roles, and I can clearly remember the tragedy of the Bradford fire.
“And I cannot forget the two major incidents of public disorder in 1995 and 2001 in my home town of Bradford.
“I am delighted to see that there is a move to really invest in Bradford and make it the vibrant, modern city it deserves to be,” ACC Cross said.
North Yorkshire Chief Constable Dave Jones said: “Sue has played a vital role within the Chief Officer Team at North Yorkshire Police and has been an inspirational leader and role model for many people during her very varied policing career.”
