Environmental activists in Keighley are submitting grant bids for three schemes on neighbouring land between Braithwaite and the North Beck.
The Keighley West Environmental Partnership wants to provide play facilities, improve a footpath and showcase the valley’s history.
The partnership, which involves councillors, organisations and residents, was updated on the project at its meeting on Monday.
It has applied for a Military Covenant grant to repair the “cat steps” that connect Braithwaite with Fell Lane at the other side of the North Beck The partnership will also apply for a Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots grant to explore the history of the valley, from the Industrial Revolution to the 1940s.
Members also hope to build a skate park or BMX track on the valley side and improve the playground.
