Windows of vehicle were too dark, court is told

A Keighley teenager’s newly-bought car had illegal light-restricting film on some of its windows, a court heard.
Police stopped 18-year-old Zain Hussain in Keighley Road, Skipton, on July 22 and tests revealed the driver’s and passenger windows of his Toyota Yaris were too dark, the court heard. Police also discovered a fault in the car’s hazard warning lights.
Hussain, who admitted using a vehicle where there was insufficient transmission of light through the glass and failing to maintain hazard warning lights, had recently bought the car in that condition, Skipton magistrates were told.
In mitigation, Gulfraz Khan said Hussain had since removed the film from the windows and replaced the bulbs in the warning lights.
Hussain, of Castle Road, Keighley, was fined £70 with costs of £85 and a victims surcharge of £20.
