Decision delayed again on farm waste tip plan
8:00am Wednesday 2nd October 2013 in News
A decision over plans to tip thousands of tonnes of inert waste on Addingham farmland has been delayed again.
Planners have secured another time extension over the application for land at Farfield Farm, Bolton Road Addingham, until October 31.
The planning application was originally submitted to North Yorkshire County Council in January, 2012, but several extensions were requested by the authority.
The scheme is for the agricultural improvement of the land, filling in a ravine to make it easier for farm machinery to tackle gorse, thistles and nettles, making it suitable for grazing.
But there as been local objection to the plans, plus concern about truck movements on backroads and the effect on the landscape.
The plan went before a committee in June this year, and was recommended for approval by officers.
