Terry Singh makes new appeal for cat food for RSPCA
9:00am Friday 27th September 2013 in News
The RSPCA branch in Bradford is appealing for food to feed their felines.
Branch manager Terry Singh and his staff will be appealing for food from 9am until 4pm today at Bradford’s Pets at Home Store in Forster Square and over the weekend.
The team is trying to boost stocks to cope with the demand from the city’s increasing cat population. It now has 100 cats and kittens.
Recently four kittens were dumped in a pet bed outside the RSPCA’s Mount Street branch and Mr Singh says they are struggling to cope.
“Nationally there is a cat crisis in the north and Bradford is having the same problem,” he said.
The charity is collaborating with Pets at Home by setting up a stand where people can donate pet food to help them in their plight.
Bradford-based York-shire Building Society and Lloyds Bank in Halifax have donated food to the branch and the RSPCA is encouraging more organisations to set up pet food collections. To help, call the centre on (01274) 723063.
