Former cancer patient gives ward a £3,500 boost through fundraiser

Former patient Paul Muszanskyj has been back to Bradford Royal Infirmary to hand over a cheque to help others being treated on its cancer ward.
The graphic designer raised £3,585 as a thank you by organising a big music event called Stay Tuned earlier this year.
He came up with the idea as a way of celebrating 18 years of remission from lymphoma and wanted Ward 15, where he spent several months battling the disease in 1995, to benefit.
About 250 people attended the fundraiser on June 22 at Farnley Sports and Social Club, Leeds, which featured songs written by Mr Muszanskyj (pictured with Brenda McKenzie and Dr Sue Cheeseman) and his band Future Colours.
The evening, which also had an auction and raffle, brought together doctors and nurses from Ward 15, the musical and media world. It also got support from Barclays Bank whose representatives Claire Stirk and Lesley Lee raised £1,500 of the final total through the bank’s Community Programme.
