Report highlights dangers to elderly and disabled in hospital
7:00am Wednesday 18th September 2013 in News
Dangers to disabled and older people in hospital have been highlighted by Keighley and Bradford Pensioner Association.
The older people's campaign group is urging families to read a new guide on how to keep relatives safe while they are patients.
It has been written by Terry Lynch, an international leader in independent living for older people.
An association spokesman said: “Too many older people and people with disabilities die, suffer or become weaker while in hospital..
“Terry Lynch offers practical advice to order people and their families about how to stay safe and maximise the chances of leaving fit and well.”
The association said the key was to ensure a vulnerable person was visited by family and friends.
More details of the report are available on the Pensioner Association's website at kbpa.weebly.com.
