Organisers have gone all out in preparation to celebrate 25 years of the Keighley Beer Festival.

It will run from Thursday, September 26, to Saturday, September 28, at Central Hall, Alice Street, Keighley. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to see a large selection of local brews, as well as foreign bottled beers, fruit beers, wheat beers and Abbey-style beers.

There will also be a number of traditional ciders and perries.

As part of the celebrations, commemorative souvenirs have also been produced and many beer-related prizes are up for grabs with the festival’s tombola.

Festival organiser Jeremy Brooksbank said there had been a concerted effort to encourage young people to appreciate all the variation of the traditional drink.

Entry is free on Thursday for 18 to 21-year-olds, and card-carrying Camra (Campaign for Real Ale) members at all times.

Pre-booked groups of ten or more of any age, arranged via the website will also get in free. The price for non-members £2.50. Organisers are offering Camra membership at a discounted rate for under-26s and over-60s at £15.50 per year, with £20 of Wetherspoon’s vouchers as an incentive to those paying by direct debit.

The festival will open on Thursday, 3pm to 11pm, Friday, 11am to 11pm, and Saturday, 11am to 11pm. For information visit keighley beerfestival.org.uk, follow on Twitter or Facebook, or phone (01756) 796167.
