8:00am Monday 16th September 2013 in News
A woman has told of her heartbreak after vandals wrecked her garden on the eve of a festival.
Anne Marsden woke to find intruders had sneaked in, pulled up flowers and plants from their pots and scattered them around her garden.
Retired teacher Miss Marsden, 55, had spent months preparing the garden for visitors at the open garden section of Saltaire Festival.
But when she opened her bedroom curtains, at her home in Albert Avenue, Saltaire, on Saturday morning, she was confronted by the devastation.
Miss Marsden said: “I was horrified and distraught. I had devoted time, money and love into the garden for months.
“When I retired it was what I was looking forward to doing.
“The garden was lovely.”
The crime has been reported to the police.
