West Bowling cocaine dealer is jailed for four years
10:00am Saturday 14th September 2013 in News
A “greedy” drug dealer who had a wad of cash in his house and a hydraulic press for cutting cocaine in his outside toilet has been jailed for four years and seven months.
Police raiding Sajid Ali’s home in Parkside Road, West Bowling, Bradford, seized cocaine with a street value of almost £33,000 as well as scales, dealer bags, a shoe box containing £11,865 and 27 mobile phones.
Ali, 26, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, supplying the drug between November 1, 2011, and February 10 last year and possession of the money as criminal property.
Peter Warne, Ali’s barrister, told Bradford Crown Court yesterday he was addicted to cocaine and given it on credit. He then had to repay those who had supplied him by selling it.
Judge Jonathan Rose said Ali was a highly thought of community worker who had turned greedy.
“You are a cutter of cocaine and are close to the source,” he said.
