UPDATE: Road closed as teenage moped rider airlifted to hospital
A teenage moped-rider was airlifted to hospital this evening after a crash left him with pelvic injuries.
The collision, which involved a moped and a car, happened near the Tesco supermarket in Halifax Road, Buttershaw, Bradford, at about 3.30pm.
Police closed the road in both directions to allow the emergency services to deal with the 19-year-old male casualty.
Commuters experienced substantial delays after the collision, with the road closed between Fenwick Drive and Royds Hall Lane.
A police spokesman said the man’s injuries were not life-threatening and appealed for witnesses to the crash to ring West Yorkshire Police on 101.
