Car crash death in Bradford took place at former accident black spot, says councillor
A councillor has decribed the death of a driver of a car which went-out-of-control and hit a tree in Bradford as a tragedy.
The 26-year-old man was pronounced dead shortly after crash in Queen’s Road at about 12.30am yesterday.
He was the sole occupant of the Volkswagen Passat.
"It's tragic, especially since we made changes to the junction and lights about six years ago because it was one of the worse spots in the city for accidents,” he said.
“It was up there in the top 20 but it's been nothing like so bad since. There's still a sharp turn there though going down towards King’s Road, it's a dangerous bend."
Police said the dead man lived in Bradford but he was not being named until relatives had been informed.
Anyone who saw the crash on or the vehicle in the moments leading up to it, should contact the Western Area Roads Policing Unit via 101.
