Stay of driving ban for carer
8:00am Saturday 24th August 2013 in News
A judge spared a dangerous driver an immediate ban after hearing that he is the principal carer for his elderly and poorly mother.
Alaur Rahman, 30, of Cornwall Terrace, Manningham Bradford, admitted driving dangerously on Manningham Lane and other roads in a VW Golf on July 13.
His case was yesterday adjourned until September 13 for the preparation of a probation service report.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC spared Rahman an interim driving ban on the day of his guilty plea after hearing that he was of good character and had a licence and insurance when he committed the offence.
The judge warned that he would be banned immediately from driving at the sentencing hearing at Bradford Crown Court.
