9:20am Saturday 17th August 2013 in News
A car valeter caught with £2,700 worth of cannabis at his home has been spared an immediate jail sentence.
Nathan Clarke, 27, also had 12 small cannabis plants at the address and £133 of cocaine. He pleaded guilty to production of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and simple possession of cocaine.
Police forced the door and found the cannabis plants, cocaine and a stash of cannabis in two plastic bags in a suitcase. Clarke, the father of a baby son, told officers he had intended to make some of the cannabis into cakes.
The court was told he was now working hard in his job to support his partner and their child. He was sentenced to five months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, with supervision and a nine month Drug Rehabilitation Requirement.
